Customize the Bub app
Start with the running Bub application and add the behavior your work needs. The builtin BubAgent extends core.Agent; the Framework supplies application orchestration, plugin hooks, and channel routing.
The guides below use the Bub application’s configuration and extension points. To supply your own model and tools directly in a Python program, start with Build your own agent.
Run the app
Section titled “Run the app”Follow the application installation and run your first conversation. Then configure the model and workspace for your work.
Choose what to add
Section titled “Choose what to add”| Your task | Start here |
|---|---|
| Add a callable function for the model | Tools in the Bub app |
| Give the model reusable instructions | Write your first skill, then Skills |
| Package an integration or replace an application hook | Write your first plugin, then Plugins and Hooks |
| Accept messages through CLI, Telegram, or another adapter | Channels |
| Embed the application’s message pipeline or ship a distribution | Embedding and distributions |
| Keep a Bub service running | Deployment |
Tools, conversation history, and agent events keep their shared contracts. The app adds its own defaults, including tool loading and code mode selection. Tools in the Bub app explains those policies; the application turn pipeline explains how the Framework connects incoming messages to outgoing responses.
Reuse an integration
Section titled “Reuse an integration”- Browse Bub Hub for plugins, skills, and distributions.
- Follow the integration guides to connect a service or protocol.
- Check the application reference for signatures and defaults.
